چکیده
The aim of the present study was to verify acute effect remote and local IPC application before isometric strength, lumbar lower limbs manual grip, upper trunk muscle endurance tests in recreationally trained individuals. volunteers were 22 men (age: 26.2 ± 6.9 years, weight: 83.4 11.6 kg, height: 175.4 5.8 cm, BMI: 27.1 3.5 kg.m-2) (4.6 3.3 years) resistance exercise (RE) that performed three visits on non-consecutive days (three seven apart). This a crossover randomized study. In first visit, Informed Consent Form (ICF) signed, according Declaration Helsinki, PAR-Q completed. Immediately after, anthropometrics assessed, followed by familiarization with tests. At second third visits, randomly assigning following experimental protocols: a) protocol 220 mmHg + strength muscular (IPC); or b) control (CON) Isometric handgrip significantly higher compared CON (61.59±10.18 vs. 58.95±10.84, 4.47Δ%, p=0.01). Lumbar (165.36±22.56 156.77±22.81, 5.48Δ%, p= 0.01) (163.09±22.92 154.86±21.55, 5.31Δ%, Push-up repetitions (43±12.80 38.91±13.03,10.51Δ%, flexion (46.05±13.28 40.23±11.18, 14.46Δ%, conclusion, increased limb protocol. Remote Ischemic Preconditioning and Diabetic Macular Edema
Objective: Remote Ischemic Preconditioning (RIPC) as the transient ischemia and reperfusion of the arm is a promising method for protecting different tissue from future ischemia. These effects might be mediated through vascular and endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathway. We investigated the influence of RIPC on diabetic macular edema (DME) as a chronic ischemic condition in patients who were ...
متن کاملIschemic preconditioning increases muscle perfusion, oxygen uptake, and force in strength-trained athletes.
Muscle ischemia and reperfusion induced by ischemic preconditioning (IPC) can improve performance in various activities. However, the underlying mechanisms are still poorly understood. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of IPC on muscle hemodynamics and oxygen (O2) uptake during repeated maximal contractions. In a cross-over, randomized, single-blind study, 10 strength-trained...
متن کاملCombined local ischemic postconditioning and remote perconditioning recapitulate cardioprotective effects of local ischemic preconditioning.
Ischemic postconditioning (PostC) and perconditioning (PerC) provide practical methods for protecting the heart against ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury, but their combined effects have not been studied in detail. Using an in vivo rat I/R model, we tested 1) whether additive effects were produced when local PostC was preceded by varying doses of remote PerC, and whether the optimal PostC+PerC ...
متن کاملSustained Isometric Shoulder Contraction on Muscular Strength and Endurance: a Randomized Clinical Trial.
BACKGROUND The Advanced Throwers Ten Exercise Program incorporates sustained isometric contractions in conjunction with dynamic shoulder movements. It has been suggested that incorporating isometric holds may facilitate greater increases in muscular strength and endurance. However, no objective evidence currently exists to support this claim. HYPOTHESIS/PURPOSE The purpose of this research wa...
متن کاملCerebral autoregulation dynamics in endurance-trained individuals.
Aerobic fitness may be associated with reduced orthostatic tolerance. To investigate whether trained individuals have less effective regulation of cerebral vascular resistance, we studied the middle cerebral artery (MCA) mean blood velocity (V(mean)) response to a sudden drop in mean arterial pressure (MAP) after 2.5 min of leg ischemia in endurance athletes and untrained subjects (maximal O(2)...
